❄️Winter in the Woods - Where nature warms the soul ❄️

Tree Forms in Watercolour with Karen Holloway

Loosen up your painting style and learn to capture the movement and character of trees in this inspiring watercolour workshop led by Karen Holloway. Focusing on gesture and flow, this session encourages you to move beyond rigid detail and embrace a more expressive, responsive approach to painting.

Through a series of guided exercises, you will explore key watercolour techniques including brushwork, colour blending, layering, and the effective use of water to create dynamic, fluid compositions. You’ll learn how to suggest form, light, and atmosphere with confidence, using simplified shapes and marks to convey the essence of trees.

Suitable for all levels, from beginners looking to build confidence with watercolour to more experienced artists wanting to loosen their style, this workshop offers a supportive and encouraging environment to experiment, take creative risks, and enjoy the expressive potential of the medium.

NatureArt Lab believe that when people engage nature through art, it fosters a deep connection and care for nature. Participants have the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and immerse themselves in art inspired by nature and the trees of the Arboretum.
