Description

Overwhelmed by climate change and the environmental challenges our community faces? We all need to recharge from time to time, and while we might be biased, we think few things are more restorative than seeing nature regenerate right in front of your eyes.

The Kidson family are helping restore a section of the Wakapuaka awa (river), which has seen 70,000+ trees planted on their land and the neighbouring Cable Bay Adventure Park. They'd love to show you what can be achieved in just five years. Come and learn about native regeneration at scale through their project, Wakapuaka Mouri, and stay to enjoy food and music.

11.30 Trees Tunes and Recharge kicks off

11.45 - 1pm Learn about Wakapuaka Mouri, the successes and challenges, go for a walk around some of the sites and plant a tree.

1pm - 3pm Head to the bach for some kai, kōrero and music.

Please note: Bring sturdy shoes, or shoes you don't mind getting muddy and bring a dish to share.

Location: Turn right at 2 Māori Pa Rd and follow the signs to 18 Māori Pa Rd
