South Eveleigh Naidoc Week Tribal Warrior Experience
Event description
Join respected lore man Uncle Les from the Yuin, Dharawal, Ngario, nations and Tribal Warrior at South Eveleigh's Cultural Garden for a Welcome to Country, Smoking and Ochre Ceremonies, followed by knowledge sharing across Indigenous history, music, food and culture.
Included will be a tour of the garden by South Eveleigh's environmental and cultural educator and Director of Jiwah, Cudgenburra/Bundjalung Aboriginal man, Clarence Slockee.Â
Kamilaroi woman and local Elder and educator, Aunty Beryl Van Oploo of the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence (NCIE) will speak about native foods including ingredients offered in the lunch pack. South Eveleigh ambassador Kylie Kwong will share about her own cooking journey with native foods, and connections to the local community.
 A tote bag of treats from Indigenous-led businesses will be offered.
ÂAll proceeds from this event will be donated to Tribal Warrior, Aboriginal Corporation, Redfern.
