About our Chief Instructor Jared Wihongi
Jared Wihongi is a globally respected expert in the realm of Close-Quarters Combat Instruction (CQC). He specializes in the fusion of firearms, impact weapons, bladed weapons, and unarmed combat, with a strong focus on their application in law enforcement, military, and self-defense situations.
With 20 years of experience as an Operator on three separate USA SWAT Teams, Jared's teaching and application of close-combat tactics are heavily influenced by his real-world experience.
Jared has imparted his CQC tactics to military Special Operations personnel, law enforcement, and civilian martial artists in North and South America, Eastern and Western Europe, East and Southeast Asia, Australasia, and the Middle East.
Having spent over 34 years training in diverse striking, grappling, and weapon-based martial arts from around the world, Jared is among the select few globally who have earned the advanced rank of ‘Tuhon' in the Filipino martial art of Pekiti-Tirsia Kali. He is widely acknowledged as one of the world's foremost authorities on the modern tactical application of the combat art of Kali.
Jared also serves as the International Master Instructor for the BONOWI Training Division, which is the exclusive official global training program for the German-made Camlock Baton. He is a frequent instructor for the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA), the largest and most esteemed tactical law enforcement association worldwide.
Since 2005, Jared has been officially contracted as a Close-Combat Instructor for U.S. Army Special Forces Units (Green Berets)

NB: This event is open only to individual ticket holders who are currently employed in Law Enforcement, Police, first responders, military, or licensed security officers. To gain entry, it is mandatory to present a valid government-issued photo ID credential that verifies the individual's active status as LEO, Military, or other first responders. Additionally, security officers are required to present a valid photo security license to gain entry.
