Description

Tristen Bird

Tristen Bird is a well-travelled singer-songwriter with experience writing, collaborating and performing in many corners of the world. Evidently, his time spent in well-known locales such as Memphis and Nashville has undeniably left authentic soul and folk magic in his musical delivery. Bird runs recording studio, ‘Palomino Sound Recorders’ by day.

For his last release, ‘Yonder Comes the Sun’, Tristen travelled to both Sun Studios and Sam Philips recording service in Memphis Tennessee to work with Grammy award winning producer Matt Ross-Spang. The album was mastered in Nashville by multi-Grammy award winner Pete Lyman.

In recent years Tristen has performed with numerous international musicians on their Australian tours sharing stages with Kevin Welch (USA), Emily Barker (UK) and Evan Dando (USA) and has worked alongside Australian icons Lo Carmen, Spencer P Jones (Beasts of Bourbon), Darren Middleton, Ian Haug (Powderfinger) Tim Rogers, & Clint Hyndman (Something for Kate).

Currently working on his 3rd album, Bird will be unveiling new works, and songs from his catalogue throughout a series of album preview shows throughout October & November 2026.

This show will be the only band show of the tour.

Mela Luca

Mela Luca is a new independent vocalist and guitarist based in Meanjin (Brisbane), creating music that intertwines folk, alternative rock, and indie music.

As an ecologist, working in muddy coastal wetlands, the interface between land and sea, Mela Luca derives awe and inspiration from the harsh and uninhabitable landscapes. From the central Australian desert to the Melaleuca paperbark woodlands and swamps. There is a beauty in these uninviting ecosystems, we feel humbled by them, in awe of their power and isolation. Mela Luca similarly explores the beauty that exists within the more melancholy aspects of life, the grim feelings of loneliness and disappointment and releasing them as art.

The debut single, I whisper good morning to you, captures the blissful intimacy of waking beside someone you love, and grappling with the anger, confusion, and grief of losing that intimacy.

Blending alternate, indie, and soft rock influences from artists such as PJ Harvey, Angie McMahon, Sonic Youth, and Portishead, Mela Luca introduces a distinctive new voice to the Australian music landscape.
