Event description

Join us for another night of frivolity, FOR A GOOD CAUSE.  The trivia will be hosted by the one and only Jennifer Wong, queen of puns, writer & TV  host. There'll also be delicious buffet by Malaysian street food superstars, Sangee's Kitchen. Buffet will be served after sunset/Iftar, to accommodate those observing Ramadan. Sangee's Kitchen will be serving up a vegetarian eggplant curry with fragrant rice and a gluten-free chicken curry with rice as well.

Welcome Merchant is a social enterprise that provides a free online directory and skill-building workshops to merchants and artists in Australia who also identify as a refugee and/or as a person seeking asylum. This money will help us continue providing the work we do for free. We're also donating a portion of the ticket sales to Women's and Girls Emergency Centre (WAGEC), a shelter that provides emergency accommodation to those on temporary visas as well.

There'll also be a Raffle Draw with amazing prizes up for grabs - a Goods 4 Good hamper, restaurant vouchers from Takam, Flyover Fritterie, Where's Nick Wine Bar, Ho Jiak, Famelia Wine, a ceramic piece from Kasama, a box of Salaam Cola, a copy of Sunday Kitchen's SOFRA Cookbook, a copy of Sarah Glover's Wild Adventure Book and more to come! Raffle sales will be donated to WAGEC too.

There will also be a special performance by Olive Diaz and her father before trivia begins & during the break! Father and daughter duo, Olive and Justo Díaz, bring together a collection of music from across Latin America spanning from Argentinian folklore and tango to Mexican boleros and Brazilian bossa nova.

Justo Díaz, from Buenos Aires, Argentina, is a prolific multi-instrumentalist, composer and visual artist and has performed in Australia for more then four decades with his group Papalote, also directing world music projects such as Café Carnivale. Justo has toured extensively through Australia and Europe.

Olive Díaz is a vocalist with roots in contemporary jazz and Latin American folk sounds. She’s know for her sweet melodic tone breathing new life into classic repertoire. Olive has played across the state for over a decade as part her jazz trio, as a soloist and featuring in her father’s musical projects.

You can book a table for up to 10 people. You can even book a solo ticket and we can help you find a group for the night! For catering purposes, ticket sales close on Thursday 27th March 2025 at 5pm. There will be vegetarian options, but please note we cannot cater to all diets. It's also BYO drinks!
