Event description

Earlier this year, Tropical Cyclone Alfred impacted South-East Queensland for many days.

Hear from speakers about the challenges in forecasting and communicating, research findings on the health impacts of cyclones, and the critical role of radio in supporting communities.

This webinar is hosted by the Bushfires, Air Pollution and Extreme Events (BAPEE) theme of the HEAL Network. This theme aims to investigate the effects of exposure to fires, pollution and extreme weather events including tropical cyclones, and identify solutions to support evidence-based policy and practice.

Our speakers include:

  • Vikash Prasad, Bureau of Meteorology

  • Prof Yuming Guo, Monash University

  • Anthony Frangi, ABC Radio

There will be time for audience Q&A at the conclusion of the webinar.
