True You Evening Workshop

Event description

Why we're hosting this evening event for women

Most women care about their well-being but feel frustrated by their bodies and how they look...they often don’t like photos of themselves, feel great in clothes, or feel as confident as they want to. Most would love the brain space back that their bodies and their well-being take up and are sick of thinking, 'Ugh, I'm ugly'.

We want that to change...

So we've teamed up to give women an alternative to the 'fix your body to feel better' options out there

The reason we all find our bodies so challenging:

Messaging for women often centres on getting fit, being well, looking good, managing stress, and if you don’t, you have failed! Then you’re told to love your body - and if you can’t do that … more failure. It's easy to believe you're broken.

Nope. Nada. No. It’s not true—you are not broken or a failure!

During this 90-minute workshop, you'll learn why women are compelled to focus on their bodies and how to change that thinking. You will also learn how to step out of frustrating patterns (e.g. hating seeing yourself in the mirror, finding it hard to get dressed, avoiding photos) and how to be more comfortable in your skin.

We could send you a million books and podcasts on how to do this, but actually experiencing a connection with your body is what makes the ultimate difference.

The True You evening workshop is for you if...

  • You want to have a kinder internal narrative about your body but you don’t want to be told to just accept it
  • You would like to be able to see yourself in photos or a mirror without it ruining your mood - and same with trying on new clothes
  • You want more confidence where your body is concerned and would like to be less stressed about what you eat
  • You intellectually understand that all bodies are good, but you know that if your body were different, life would be easier

Here's how it works...

The evening workshop from 7 to 8.30 pm

For the first half, Jen will lead a 45-minute accessible yoga class that every BODY can do. Bring your aches and pains, belly rolls, limitations and upsets. Jen will expertly guide you to a calmer, more peaceful place in your body

For the second half Emma will lead a 45-minute body image exploration. You will be led through exercises that will start you on the road to healing your relationship with your body and food

What you can expect from the True You evening workshop …

  • Shift in perspective: You’ll see the whole body/food iceberg and be able to make more powerful choices for yourself
  • A new experience of well-being: Move your body in a way that feels connecting, nurturing and sustainable
  • Become kinder to yourself: When you experience where your ‘food/body’ thoughts come from you’ll be much kinder on yourself without having to ‘try’
  • A way forward: Understand the steps to take to heal your relationship with body and food (they aren’t as hard or scary as you think)
  • Let go of trying to love or accept your body: Instead feel an alignment with it that you didn’t know was missing.
