Trump 2.0: A Republic, If You Can Keep It
Event description
On Tuesday October 15, Words in Winter will host a special one-night event exploring the challenges of Trump 2.0 and its impact on democracy.
The session, titled “A Republic, If You Can Keep It”, runs from 5.30 – 7.00 pm at The Bull & Mouth, Maryborough. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to order dinner, with full service beginning at 7.00 pm.
Tickets are just $15, capped at 50 people for an intimate, engaging evening.
The event will examine the defining traits of Trump’s second coming — lawlessness, corruption, authoritarianism, and incompetence — alongside the resistance strategies from Congress, the judiciary, and grassroots movements.
“Franklin’s warning about keeping the republic is as relevant now as ever,” said a Words in Winter spokesperson. “This session will spark conversation about democracy, power, and the role of ordinary people in defending both.”
If you wish to stay on for dinner, the kitchen will take orders from 5.15pm to be served after the session concludes.
