Description

This session explores how generative AI is reshaping two distinct fields, law enforcement and education, and why both are grappling with strikingly similar questions. Drawing from Adobe's work with global agencies and institutions, including initiatives like the Content Authenticity Initiative, John will share real-world insights into:

  • The ethical challenges and opportunities of AI across legal, forensic, and educational contexts

  • How Adobe tools are used in investigations to combat crimes such as child exploitation and misinformation, and how those same lessons apply to responsible AI use in education

  • The importance of digital literacy, content authentication, and ethical leadership in shaping future professionals

John Penn II is a Senior Solutions Architect for Law Enforcement Technologies at Adobe, where he leverages technology to support law enforcement agencies and help protect vulnerable children. Beginning his career as a senior computer scientist on the Photoshop team, John spent more than two decades at Adobe before discovering a new calling through his work with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). A recognized leader and educator, John speaks globally on the use of technology in public safety, government, and law enforcement.
