Description

🧠 Thinking Skills Challenge – How It Works

A fun, engaging and confidence-building thinking competition designed to challenge young minds through logic, reasoning, deduction and problem solving.

Unlike traditional school exams, this challenge focuses less on memorization and more on how well students can think, analyze patterns and solve problems creatively.

This competition is designed for primary school students who enjoy puzzles, visual reasoning, logic challenges and “brain-training” style questions in a fair and supportive environment.

Participants compete individually within their own age division to ensure fair and age-appropriate competition.

👧👦 Eligibility

Open to primary school students in three divisions:

• Group 1: Year 1–2
• Group 2: Year 3–4

• Group 3: Year 5–6

Each child competes only within their own age group.

⏱ Competition Format

This is a 60-minute written thinking skills challenge.

• A mix of logic, reasoning and problem-solving questions
• Questions increase in difficulty across multiple sections
• No calculators, notes or electronic devices allowed

Children will complete the paper independently in a supervised competition room.

🧩 Question Types

The challenge may include:

• Pattern recognition
• Number logic
• Deduction problems
• Visual reasoning
• Spatial thinking
• Lateral thinking puzzles
• Problem-solving challenges

Questions are designed to encourage logical thinking, focus and creative reasoning.

🧮 Scoring System

Questions increase in difficulty throughout the paper.

• Marks are awarded only for correct answers
• No negative marking

This rewards both foundational thinking ability and advanced problem-solving skills.

🥇 Ranking & Tie-Breaking

1️⃣ Total Score

Students are ranked by their total marks.

Higher scores always rank above lower scores.

2️⃣ Time Taken (Tie-Breaker Only)

If two students achieve the same score, the faster submission ranks higher.

Time is measured from the official start until the paper is handed in.

⏳ Early Submission

• Students may submit their paper before the 60-minute limit
• Once submitted, answers cannot be changed
• Time stops immediately upon submission

⚖️ Fair Play

• No talking or copying
• Any form of cheating may result in disqualification
• Organizers’ decisions are final
