Event description

Join us for the first of our Global Startup Series for 2021.

As we start to adapt to the new normal and to living with the COVID-19 global pandemic, have you wondered how startups in other countries are coping?

In this session, we chat with startups and startup experts/advisors from around the world about what they've done to survive in the new working environment and how they have adapted to this new way of working.

Join our panel as we discuss:

  • what is happening around the globe (what is the "new norm?") and how the startup industry is coping
  • the emergence/resurgence of remote working
  • case studies of successful global expansion in the current environment

Matt's experience living and working abroad inspired him to create Sage Corps in 2013...on a legal pad! Sage Corps is a global career accelerator program that sends university students to work abroad with global startups across 15 cities on 5 continents. Separately, Matt is the co-founder and co-director of Experience Lab at Penn, a bridge program from college to career for recent graduates. In his former life, Matt was a litigation partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP where he represented Latin American companies in U.S. litigations. Matt graduated cum laude from Northwestern Law School, and summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania where he studied International Relations and Spanish. When he isn't parachuting into global startup ecosystems or working with students, Matt spends his time fighting "bad guys" with his two sons, baby daughter, and his incredibly patient and loving wife.
