To encourage speaking openly about mental health, especially within startups, we've put a special panel together - veterans in startup land - to discuss their own personal experiences as well as:

Shelley Laslett, CEO & Co-Founder, Vitae
Shelley Laslett is a social scientist and post-graduate neuroscientist, with international business coaching, customer, strategy, product and operations experience. She’s currently the CEO and Co-Founder of Vitae.Coach (Vitae) - a coaching company that uses social neuroscience to help individuals, leaders and businesses grow. As a startup advisor focussing on strategy, product, people and operational growth; Shelley has coached and mentored a number of global accelerators, incubators, and startups including, Techstars, Founders Factory - London, WeWork Labs, Sparklabs Cultiv8, AgriDigital, Cover Genius, SBE Australia, Academy Xi, Plann, The Collective Child, Tank Stream Labs, Tech Ready Women, and SunCulture.Â
Bradley Delamere, CEO, Tank Stream Labs
Bradley is the CEO of Tank Stream Labs, a startup focused coworking community. As CEO, Brad grew the business from a small venture to be one of Australia’s largest startup hubs by creating an environment tailored for entrepreneurs. Brad has worked with many global companies helping them to navigate innovation agendas and challenges. Brad is seen as an industry leader in the Australian startup ecosystem. He is a mentor and coach to many startups.
Ryan Halson, Co-Founder & Director, Discovered People
Ryan Halson is the co-founder of technology recruitment business, Discovered People, with a decade of successful experience in scaling technology start-ups. Ryan has been intrigued by founder mental health ever since his first start-up collapsed in 2019, where he was diagnosed with depression and knows first hand how depression can affect every facet of one’s life as well as the lives of their loved ones.
A strong believer in the power of vulnerability, positive thinking, and the link between exercise and mental health. Ryan enjoys a good podcast and documentary binge but can also be found on long bike rides, in the gym or eating good food and socialising with friends
Moderator:Â Anita Baccam, Head of Events, Tank Stream Labs
With over 12 years’ of events experience, Anita has predominately worked within the financial services, tech, and startups spaces. She is currently the Head of Events at tech-focused co-working space, Tank Stream Labs, and launched anitaplanner, an event consultancy business in May 2019. She is passionate about supporting the growth of the startup and tech communities through leading event management and delivering strategic and innovative events. In her downtime, she enjoys reading, camping, and taking spontaneous road trips. She is also a lover of all things food, fine wine, single malt scotch, and the performing arts.
