FuseIT has been operating in Nelson for more than three decades, having been founded here in 1992. Over that time, the company has continually re-imagined itself — adapting to changing markets, customer needs and rapidly evolving technology.
Today, FuseIT has a local team of developers and support engineers based in Nelson, specializing in enterprise software solutions and professional services worldwide. It is a great example of a technology company that has retained its Nelson roots while building an increasingly global footprint.
Matt Walters
Matt Walters is the CEO of FuseIT, having joined the company in 2024 to lead its next phase of growth and evolution.
Matt brings a somewhat different perspective to technology leadership. His career has included senior roles across community development, education, local government and social enterprise, including work with Christchurch City Council, CERA and the Rātā Foundation. He has also been involved in governance and community leadership, with a strong focus on collaboration, participation and creating meaningful outcomes.
That combination of community, business and technology experience gives Matt an interesting perspective on how a long-established technology company can continually reinvent itself, build products and services for changing markets, and compete internationally while remaining proudly based in Nelson.
