Bothwell Top Tourist Tiny Town heritage accommodation and meal deal - one night  

Itinerary Day 1: Heritage, Golf, Riverside Strolls and Countryside Drive

  • Morning Arrival in Bothwell – Stroll through the town’s historic streets, admiring the beautifully preserved Georgian cottages and stone buildings. Add a little antique shopping.
  • Visit the Australasian Golf Museum and Visitors Centre– Discover the origins of golf in Australia, view fascinating memorabilia, local art and explore Bothwell’s Scottish heritage.
  • Have a game of golf at Ratho Farm’s famous course amongst the sheep and lean about Ratho Farm’s fascinating history  OR
  • Walk along Croakers Alley by the Clyde River – Enjoy a peaceful riverside path lined with charming scenery.
  • Perhaps pack a morning tea or lunch & relax by the Clyde River – Pick up delicious locally made treats at the Post Office and unwind in a scenic spot at Croakers Alley.
  • Afternoon: Wander up Adelaide Hill via Lovers Lane – Take in sweeping views of Bothwell and the surrounding countryside's sunset (you may be lucky enough to catch sight of the magnificent Aurora Borealis)

  • Take our picnic lunch basket on your scenic drive back to Bothwell and to Steppes Historic Cottage – Walk through this remote 19th-century shepherd’s hut and discover the resilience of early settlers.
  • Continue to Waddamana Power Station Museum – Explore Tasmania’s first hydro-electric power station and learn about early innovation in the Highlands.
  • Return to Bothwell stopping at Bothwell Post Office for coffee, treats and to drop off our picnic basket, or Castle Hotel before continuing on your journey.
