ALONE TO SACRIFICE (FEATHERSTON, WELLINGTON) 

Single ticket price: $30

We begin the year with Alone To Sacrifice - Music for Holy Week. Our programme is based around Sir James MacMillan’s powerful ’Cantos Sagrados’, a set of three poems concerning political repression, violence and redemption in Latin America. The theme of sacrifice is explored in Kenneth Leighton’s ‘Solus ad Victimam’, and we round out the programme with Lenten works by Byrd, Gibbons, Purcell and Weelkes.

O NATA LUX (WELLINGTON)

Single ticket price: $30

We continue our series at Wellington Cathedral of St Paul with the world premiere of O Nata Lux, a work written specially for us by David Griffiths. This will form the centrepiece of a programme focused on light and brightness, including music by Ross Harris, Eric Whitacre, David Hamilton and William Walton.

The Tudor Consort and The Queen's Closet present RESTORATION SONGS (Wellington)

We finish our series with a programme of English Restoration music with early music ensemble The Queen's Closet. This delightful concert will include music by Henry Purcell, Pelham Humphrey and John Blow.

We are also excited to be putting on a special cabaret-style performance! This will not be part of our season subscription, but seating is limited so we recommend buying your tickets in advance.

REPAST is an intimate mid-winter feast of part songs themed around eating and drinking! Featuring small groups of one-voice-per-part repertoire by Henry Purcell, Orlando de Lassus and Francis Poulenc. The performance will be seated cabaret style, so bring your friends! We look forward to performing in the beautiful Town Halls in Martinborough and Khandallah for this programme. Complimentary drinks and nibbles will be provided.
