    Event description

    The Coronavirus crisis has meant that many older people are at home and are not getting their normal physical activities to maintain their strength and fitness. 

    The Tuesday Gentle Exercise class includes a group of older people who get together to maintain their strength and fitness. The exercises are specifically designed for older people and include strength building, flexibility and cardio exercises.

    This class is being run online through zoom and will be just as much fun as being live in the room.  The tutor, Joanna, will be there to help you and make sure you are doing the exercise correctly.

    Joanna runs the class and is a qualified health professional who has many years experience and is committed to helping make exercise accessible and engaging. 

    Please make sure you have a clear area to move. Take breaks when needed to drink water or to have a breather. Exercise within your physical limits to stay safe and injury free. 

    Pre-exercise check list:

    Please indicate if you have or have ever had any of the following conditions:

    1. Heart condition (for example, heart attack, stroke, angina, heart murmur)?
    2. Do you ever experience unexplained pains in your chest at rest or during physical activity/exercise?
    3. High blood pressure?
    5. If you have diabetes (type I or type II) have you had trouble controlling your blood glucose in the last 3 months?
    6. Severe dizziness or feeling faint during exercise?
    7. Have you been hospitalised in the last 6 months?
    8. Are you pregnant? 

    9. Arthritis?

    It is recommended that if you have answered yes to any of the questions above or if you have not been physically active and/or are aged 60 years and over you must consult a medical professional prior to participation in any online directed fitness activities.

    There are no fees to participate in our online fitness classes.
