Get to Know the Youth Rangers
High Park Rangers is a weekly youth leadership program where teens learn about nature, take part in hands‑on stewardship projects, and connect with other nature‑loving youth. Youth Rangers build real naturalist skills, contribute to meaningful conservation work in Toronto’s High Park, and gain the confidence and experience to become environmental leaders in their communities.
Our leaders work closely with the Rangers, shaping each session around the group’s interests and goals to create a meaningful youth learning experience. We design activities that are hands‑on, relevant to the season, and directly connected to the stewardship needs of High Park’s unique ecosystems.
As part of the program, youth participants:
Take long nature hikes through High Park to explore diverse ecosystems
Plant native species to support local biodiversity
Manage invasive plants such as garlic mustard and buckthorn
Plan and host nature walks or educational events for the public
