Tukutuku Inspired Pegboard Weaving
Description
Tukutuku Inspired Pegboard Weaving
Multicultural Connection Collective (MCC), in collaboration with Te Mauri o te Māori, invites you to join us for a community weaving wānanga exploring creativity, connection and wellbeing (hauora).
Weaving offers an opportunity to slow down, engage our creativity and connect with others through a shared experience.
Drawing inspiration from traditional tukutuku patterns, we will explore their significance before using contemporary pegboards and cord to create our own woven pieces.
Participants can choose from four prepared patterns developed and tested for this wānanga. No previous weaving experience is needed, and each participant will be able to take home their own ready-to-hang creation.
Throughout the evening, there will be opportunities to learn, create and share kōrero in a relaxed and supportive environment. We will also come together for shared kai.
