TUKUTUKU WORKSHOP BY LISA HARDING
Event description
Tēnā koutou katoa! Brown Town is excited to bring you our next workshop — this April, we’re learning the art of tukutuku 🔷
Tukutuku panels are a traditional Māori art form that combine storytelling, symmetry, and meaning. Often seen adorning the walls of wharenui, these woven patterns hold deep ancestral knowledge and are woven with aroha and intention.
This workshop will be led by the incredible Lisa Harding, a knowledgable kairaranga, kairongoā, and educator. As a part of Kahu Collective, Lisa is a proud advocate for the preservation of toi Māori, who brings spirit and skill to her mahi. We are beyond blessed to learn under her guidance!
