A Special Concert Honouring the Dutch Pioneers of Canberra
Join internationally acclaimed soprano Mirusia Louwerse for a truly special afternoon of music, heritage, and celebration at the Harmonie German Club in Canberra on 26 April.
With her breathtaking voice, Mirusia will perform a selection of beloved songs from her time touring the world with André Rieu, including Dutch classics like Tulpen Uit Amsterdam, German favourites such as as well as music from her classical repertoire. She will be joined by special guests, the musical theatre star Queenie van de Zandt and her madcap musical therapist alter ego, Jan van de Stool, bringing laughter and mayhem to the stage.
This unique concert pays tribute to the early Dutch migrants who helped build Canberra and celebrates their lasting contributions to the nation’s capital. Proceeds will support the publication of Tulips in the Capital, a book collecting the inspiring stories of these pioneering Dutch Australians.
