IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT SESSION TIMES: Day ONE - 10am - 5pm / Day TWO - 9am - 3pm

THE CONTEXT:

The relationship we have with our Self is the single longest partnership we have with anyone in our lives and yet we invest little to no time, energy and attention in ensuring it is a healthy one.

When it comes to the challenges and obstacles we all face as part of a 24/7, “always on”, high-change environment of life and business, self-talk can be our biggest enemy or our most powerful ally.

But we just don’t know how to tune in to it and, even if we do, we don’t like what we hear. In a series of studies people preferred to distract themselves by self-administering electric shocks rather than sit alone with their own thoughts for between just 6-15 minutes!

For women this is especially relevant. Study after study shows that women’s lack of self-confidence, self-esteem and self-belief. Throughout our working lives, women regularly experience self-doubt and internal struggle with identity (creating role-conflicts like motherhood vs career, woman vs leader) leading to negative impacts on our quality of life, career success, and wellbeing.

If YOU want to BE and DO more in your life, you'll benefit from investing in developing your ability to connect more deeply with your “self”; build your confidence and self-esteem; access your capacity for connection and collaboration; embrace vulnerability in order to stretch towards new opportunities and/or to make the most of the ones you have in your hands right now.

"The most important conversation is the one you have with yourself."

Kate Billing

WHO IS IT FOR AND WHAT TO EXPECT:

This edition of Tune In: Unlocking the Power of Self-talk is for women who want to:

  • Quieten self-doubt and negative self-talk
  • Change the conversation with their Inner Critic
  • Access their Inner Coach and deal with 'Imposter Syndrome'
  • Increase their sense of personal power; and
  • Better support their mental and emotional wellbeing.

This immersive development experience is for women who see themselves as self-driven learners with a growth mindset about their character, ability and potential.

They’re also aware that something is holding them back from owning their full potential. Negative self-talk, niggling self-doubt, and a noisy Inner Critic are stopping them stepping up to the next level in their career, or stretching into the next level of leadership, or becoming a better version of themselves in life.

Sound like you?

Tune In: Unlocking the Power of Self-talk provides a much-needed opportunity to increase your awareness of the way the brain is wired and the constant stream of ‘chatter’ it creates between your ears. We’ll explore the negative impact this has if left unchecked and the power it offers as a guide and self-coaching tool when harnessed.

This workshop brings women together as a learning community to share their experiences and insights as they explore their internal dialogue, the impact it’s having, and how to tune in and take charge of it.

The spacious, conversational design allows you to reflect on, connect with and share your own experience; to learn from the experience of others; and to contextualise new mental models, tools, and practices within your own reality. PLUS you'll leave with a self-set action plan and an Accountability Buddy for support.

Tune In is a two-day workshop designed with ‘new ways of working’, family responsibilities, and travel requirements in mind. Day One runs from 10.00am to 5.00pm and Day Two is from 9.00am to 3.00pm.  This creates space for whatever life and work requirements you may have, including traveling from outside Wellington to attend.

WORKSHOP OUTCOMES

  1. A new awareness and wider perspective on your internal dialogue;
  2. Personal insights and self-coaching practices to implement immediately to improve your ability to tune in to and take charge of self-talk;
  3. A new understanding of, appreciation for and relationship with your Inner Critic
  4. Identified opportunities to develop new habits and practices to grow your ability to use ‘chatter’ as a self-coaching tool;
  5. An action plan based on learning insights; and
  6. An Accountability Buddy to support you in your evolution.

WHAT DO I NEED TO PREPARE?

  • Dress – comfy casual layers so you can warm up or cool down as you need and a brollie/coat if it looks like rain
  • Phone – our workshop time is ‘unplugged’ so make sure those that will want to connect with you understand you won't be glued to your phone

Feedback from previous Tune In participants:

“Kate’s expert facilitation immediately created a supportive and safe environment for the participants to share our thoughts, feelings and experiences. She packed in a huge amount of knowledge and techniques for listening and responding to our self-talk, without it ever feeling rushed. The activity sessions were especially helpful as they gave us an opportunity to immediately apply what we were learning. I have found that daily practice of the tools taught in the Tune In workshop is transforming my life.” - Daria Williamson, Business Owner

“Kate has deep knowledge and experiences to draw from so the course content is always meaningful, appropriately contextualised and facilitated with just the right amount of challenge to ensure we left feeling fully accountable for and more in control of our future selves. For anyone who needs to become more aware of the impact of your own thoughts on your behaviours, ‘Tune In’ and the exceptional Kate Billing need to be on your personal development plan for the year.” – Jacqui Simpson, HR Director & Masters of Technology Student

“I was lucky enough to attend the Tune In workshop with Kate recently and it was extraordinary. Kate is a wonderful mix of smarts, humour and human compassion. She had us laughing, thinking, connecting, planning, doing (and the odd bit of crying) and I now have some simple tools in my kit to manage my headspace. We don't often spend time on our brains, we expect them to work their best while we continue to pile more and more into them. Kate made us all realise how important it is to look after our thoughts and internal processes. I recommend this workshop 120%.” – Angela Barnett, Founder of PrettySmart

“Don’t let who you’re being get in the way of who you could become.”
