Mark investigates Australia’s housing crisis, uncovering the policies which supercharged the housing market, the solutions at hand, and one big revelation that might just fix it.

Join us for a screening of SOLD! Who Broke the Australian Dream, a powerful new film that shines a light on how our housing system has been shaped by politics, profit, and policy failure.

After the film, we’ll host a panel discussion with leading voices on housing justice. Together, we’ll explore what can be done right now to fix the housing crisis - and how you can be part of the change.

You’ll leave with practical actions you can take to push for:
✅ More public and community housing
✅ An end to unfair tax handouts that fuel the crisis
✅ A fair go for renters

Maiy Azize
Maiy is the National Spokesperson for Everybody’s Home, and a leading voice on housing affordability, homelessness, and renters’ rights.

Israt Jahan
Israt is a renter, social worker and migrant from Bangladesh, supporting refugees and people with disability through her role at Settlement Services International.

Mark Humphries
Mark is a comedian, writer, broadcaster and Presenter of SOLD! Who Broke the Australian Dream?

Moderator: Leo Patterson Ross
Leo is CEO of the Tenants’ Union of NSW, with 15+ years in housing justice and community development, amplifying renters’ experiences through advocacy and media.

Everybody’s Home is the national campaign to fix Australia’s housing system. We call on governments to:

Build more public and community homes
Abolish tax handouts that fuel the crisis
Ensure renters have a fair go

Tenants’ Union of NSW is the peak body for renters in New South Wales. We stand up for tenants’ rights and push for a fair housing system by:

Providing advice and support to renters
Advocating for stronger rental laws and protections
Building a voice for tenants in housing policy
