    The November 18th 1947 fire at Ballantynes’ Department Store claimed 41 lives and remains the worst fire in New Zealand’s history. Join Tony Phillips author of Always ready: Christchurch Fire Brigade: 1860-2010 as he discusses how this tragic event unfolded and the lessons learnt from the fire.
