Join leading New Zealand counsellor and educator Peter Thorburn for an engaging and practical session on communication and de-escalation.
Drawing on both professional expertise and lived experience, Peter will share evidence-informed strategies for responding to conflict, managing heightened emotions, and de-escalating difficult situations.
Participants will gain practical tools to strengthen relationships, improve communication, and support positive outcomes for young people and those around them.
Peter is a qualified addiction counsellor and founder of several organisations. Following his own journey through addiction, imprisonment, and recovery, he has become one of New Zealand's most respected educators on de-escalation, alcohol and drug issues, and trauma-informed care. His presentations combine real-world experience with evidence-based insights that inspire understanding, resilience, and lasting change.
