Description

***Cancelled***

The ocean floor doesn't need to be a casualty of dinner.

Join us for an evening dedicated to one of the most pressing issues in ocean conservation: the continued use of destructive fishing techniques, namely bottom trawling and scallop dredging.

For decades, what's happened at the bottom of the ocean has been out of sight and mind. It's time to turn the tide. Now the question is being asked; why are we continuing to commercially fish this way?

Join Jono Ridler, LegaSea's Sam Woolford, and the Opportunity Party deputy leader, Dan Eb at the Outboard Boating Club (OBC) Clubrooms for a panel discussion on the state of our oceans, MC'd by Mike Plant of the NZ Sport Fishing Council.

One speaker swam the length of the North Island. One's been fighting for better fisheries for decades. One's putting oceans on the ballot this November. Three different perspectives, one common cause. Now, they're sharing a stage.

Jono's swim turned heads and got people talking. Let’s not let the momentum fade. With the election in November, this is the moment to get these three voices in the same room and ask the question - What will it take to finish the job?

This isn't a lecture on what's wrong. It's a room of people actively raising awareness and promoting solutions.

This is your invitation to be part of it. See what the future of fishing could look like when we work with the seafloor, not against it.
