Turtle Tracker Training - City of Bayswater
Event description
Become a Turtle Tracker – Help Protect Turtles at Eric Singleton Wetlands
The City of Bayswater has joined forces with Murdoch University to take part in the Saving Our Snake-Necked Turtle project – and you can be part of it!
EnviroHouse coordinates the Turtle Tracker team on behalf of the City of Bayswater, and we’re now inviting new volunteers to join the 2025 Turtle Tracker program at Eric Singleton Wetlands, running from late September to mid-November.
This citizen science initiative empowers the community to actively support turtle conservation, while gaining valuable ecological skills and contributing to real research.
As a Turtle Tracker, you’ll learn how to:
Track nesting female snake-necked turtles (Chelodina oblonga)
Identify and protect turtle nests
Record your observations using the TurtleSAT app
Support critical efforts to conserve a species under threat
