Pathways to Piping & Drumming - Tutor Forum 2026
Description
The Scottish Schools Pipes and Drums Trust and the National Piping Centre welcome piping and drumming teachers from across the country for an interactive day of piping & drumming to learn, discuss, play and share best practice for engaging young people in performing.
Taking place at The Barracks Conference Centre in Stirling, the aim of this day is to facilitate discussion and collaboration, working on teaching techniques and more, in a thought-provoking and useful way.
Building on yoru feedback from the last session the schedule for the day is built around an informal approach to all topics, which maximises peer-to-peer learning and interactions. Expect to learn from each other through discussion and knowledge sharing in this interactive day.
The programme is still being finalised but you can see the session outline and timings here.
The seminars will be interspersed with plenty of networking opportunities for you to meet your colleagues from across Scotland!
Please bring along your chanters and sticks/pads as there will be some practical elements to the day.
Tea, coffee and a light lunch is provided on the day, so please include any dietary requirements you have so we can cater for you.
The registrations are £75 for salaried instructors. For freelance instructors it is £15 to register, which helps cover the cost of the lunch.
The formal part of the day will end around 4.30pm.
This page will be updated closer to the event with more details on our seminars, so book your tickets now for this great day of music & workshops.
