Supporting creativity in the Tweed

If you’re part of the creative sector in the Tweed, we’d love to hear from you.

Tweed Shire Council is developing a new Cultural Strategy to guide how Council supports culture, creativity and the arts across the Tweed.

We’re inviting artists, creative practitioners, cultural organisations, venue operators, creative businesses, event organisers, arts workers and sector leaders to attend a Community Conversation to inform development of the Tweed Cultural Strategy.

This Community Conversation is an opportunity to connect with others in the creative community, share your experiences, discuss the opportunities and challenges facing the sector, and help Council better understand where its support can make the greatest difference.

This Strategy won't be deciding the future direction of arts and culture in the Tweed. Instead, it will help inform how Council can work with and support the sector to thrive into the future.

Your insights will help shape Council’s priorities, partnerships and actions over the coming years.

What to expect

The community conversation will include:

  • An overview of how the draft Tweed Cultural Strategy will be developed

  • Discussion about opportunities and challenges facing the sector

  • Conversations about how Council supports or constrains sector growth

  • Opportunities to share ideas and feedback

This is a facilitated discussion focused on gathering insights and experiences from people working in and supporting the cultural and creative sector. Consultation feedback will help inform development of the new draft Tweed Cultural Strategy.

Why your participation matters

Council values the expertise and lived experience of Tweed's cultural and creative sector.

Your participation will help ensure the Tweed Cultural Strategy reflects the experiences, aspirations and priorities of the people who create, support and deliver arts and cultural activities across our Shire. Council is genuinely seeking input to help shape our long-term approach to supporting arts, culture and creativity in the Tweed, and to understand where we can play the most valuable role in helping the sector thrive.
