Tween Parent Evening: A Discussion on Gender and Sexuality
Event description
There’s a lot of information out there about what tweens are navigating, and it can be tough to know how to best support them. This event is for any parent or caregiver who wants to better understand how to talk with their tween about gender and sexuality, especially during a stage of life that can feel confusing for everyone.
Dr. Karla Anhalt, a psychology professor at Kent State University, will share research-based insights about how tweens and teens experience gender and sexuality. We’ll also look at a few Jewish texts that explore identity, respect, and the importance of listening.
There will be space to ask questions, reflect, and connect. Whether your child identifies as LGBTQ+, is asking questions about their peers, or you're just looking to grow your understanding, this conversation is for you.
Please contact Erin Gabay at egabay@jecc.org with any questions.
