Twine Weaving Workshop
Description
Gathering among bushland outside for a day of Weaving using the Twining Technique 🌿
Using locally growing plants to craft small baskets ~ or which ever way it takes you.
I'll be wild harvesting, preparing plant fibres and providing all materials and guidance needed while offering a herbal tea as you settle in to learn.
Sharing in the ethical harvesting and processing ways of these plants, how to begin the twining method and continue on to finish a small basket.
Once having learnt this way, it's easy to continue weaving any shapes or creations you please in future with many types of plants found around your local area.
Weaving is a simple and soothing creative process that brings a beautiful remembrance of ancestral ways.
Sitting on the earth, gathered in circle, threading stories of the land, sharing in connection and old ways. This tends to ignite a humble ember, creating with our hands with the original resource of nature like many before us.
Please bring
- A potluck meal or snacks to share together for lunch/afternoon tea
- Extra comfits to sit on
- Water bottle
We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land wurundjeri on which our workshop takes place. May we continue to give back with presence and reciprocity.
With warmth, Sally
