Two Iconic Daylesford Lakes - Grade 2 (Easy)
Event description
The Great Dividing Trail Association (GDTA) invites you to join them on the Two Iconic Daylesford Lakes walk. This walk is part of the Try Bushwalking Month, celebrating the 90th Anniversary of Bushwalking Victoria, the peak body representing 60+ bushwalking clubs across Victoria.
On this walk we will visit picturesque Lake Daylesford and nearby Jubilee Lake. The latter was built in the 1860s to supply water to gold miners and the former was built in 1930 to cover the scars caused by that mining. The walk includes a section of the Lerderderg Track along the old Daylesford railway cutting, an old timber trestle bridge at Jubilee Lake and a number of mineral springs.
DISTANCE: 9km Loop walk that will take 3 hours
WHO IS THIS WALK FOR? This is a medium walk for beginner bushwalkers or anyone who wants to enjoy the beauty and history of the Central Highlands. Families with children capable of walking the distance are welcome. The walk is mostly on groomed trails. Moderate physical fitness is required. The track is not suitable for wheelchairs or people requiring mobility aids.
