UC KidsFest: Tower vs Catapult

We welcome our guests, young and old(er), to our laboratory space in Mechanical Engineering. Our programme exposes the participants to Mechanical Engineering’s core disciplines - Design, (Additive) Manufacturing, Analysis, Materials Science, Fluid Dynamics, etc. The event includes building and firing a catapult, and constructing a tower to test on an earthquake simulator table. Participants will also get to experience the university wind tunnel and discover what Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering is all about. The event is designed for the age group 8-13 years. Parents or caregivers are welcome to stay or to just drop-off and pick-up their child(ren). Please note that children are required to wear closed footwear.
