Description

Gain practical experience helping launch a real emerging startup.

The UCE x Entre Launch Squad is a new startup-support programme bringing together student talent, venture founders and industry partners to deliver focused launch campaigns for promising UC student ventures.

Students from any discipline can gain practical experience supporting a real launch, while helping a fellow UC founder take their venture into the world. Opportunities may include content creation, marketing, community activation, customer research, people and volunteer coordination, software development, analytics and operations.

Each campaign is a time-boxed four-to-six-week Launch Sprint. You can contribute in a way that suits your availability—from an hour helping distribute campaign material through to taking an active role in a campaign workstream.

Industry partners contribute expertise, resources and connections to help take campaign activity beyond campus and into the wider community.

Our first Launch Squad campaign supports UC student founder Zac Hemmings as Cluttr launches across Ōtautahi Christchurch.

Cluttr

“Clutter into cash—without the hassle. Scan it. Book it. Gone.”

Cluttr is a circular-economy platform that helps people turn unwanted household items into value, without having to manage listings, messages and meet-ups themselves.

Customers scan their items, book a collection and have them sold through Cluttr’s reseller network. It is designed for people who are moving, downsizing or simply ready to reclaim space from an overflowing garage, shed or spare room.

Spring Clean Ōtautahi

Spring Clean Ōtautahi is Cluttr’s Christchurch launch campaign. It has a bold ambition to unlock up to $500,000 in value from unwanted household items during spring, while giving residents and workplaces the opportunity to turn clutter into value — with options for listers to direct their sale proceeds to a charity partner.

The campaign has two aims:

  • Encourage households to become Listers by booking collections.

  • Recruit Resellers who can use their second-hand knowledge and sales skills to build flexible income.

The campaign will build through September and October toward Labour Weekend, with selected activity continuing through November. It will be supported by local content, community activity, media and highly visible physical placements.

The campaign is being supported by Stuff, MediaWorks, Vast Billboards, Phantom Billstickers and Publica.

It will also support grassroots Ōtautahi charities including The Yarns Men, supporting men’s mental health, Terra Nova Foundation, creating meaningful environmental and climate impact, and She is Not Your Rehab, an anti-violence movement that exists to address and dismantle the cycles of intergenerational trauma, violence, and abuse.
