Event description

Join us for a special night of music, culture, and community as we raise $7,000 to buy a vehicle that will help on the front line in Ukraine. Every ticket is a donation, and if you can’t make it, you can still support the cause by donating below.

We’ve got an incredible lineup for, the night: powerful original songs by Valeria Vovk, soulful rock and vintage Ukrainian hits from Barva, and energetic folk music from the Golden Ukrainian Folk Ensemble. You’ll even have a chance to learn some traditional Ukrainian folk dances.

There will also be a live auction featuring beautiful items from Ukraine, including a lot of the unique items you can’t miss. It’s going to be a night full of music, dancing, and connection — all for a powerful cause.

Barva

Barva is a Ukrainian-American band based in NYC, blending vintage Ukrainian hits with rock, soul, and funk to create a sound that’s both nostalgic and totally fresh. Formed in 2022 by Jason Wojnar an American who lived and studied in Ukraine, the band started as a way to keep the spirit of Ukrainian music alive during a dark time and fundraiser to help Ukraine, and quickly turned into something much bigger.

Lead by Ukrainian vocalist Hanna Datsko, Barva is all about celebrating the richness of Ukrainian culture and introducing it to new ears. Their live shows are high-energy, emotional, and packed with music from the ’60s and ’70s that still hits hard today. Barva is a dynamic mix of musicians: Hanna Datsko on vocals, Adam Shapiro on guitar, Jen Shapiro on piano, Markiian Krysa on drums, and Jared Cavazos on bass. The band continues to evolve its sound and impact.

Barva has played everywhere from Ukrainian music festivals to grassroots fundraisers, and actively supporting Ukraine. Their music that tells stories, honors history, and makes you want to dance.

Valeria Vovk

Known for her emotional vocals and modern interpretations of Ukrainian folk and pop music, Valeria Vovk has garnered millions of views on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. In 2024, she performed in over 30 U.S. cities — both as part of the Cultural Forces tour and through her independent concerts — using her voice to advocate for Ukraine and raise support through fundraising events.

Golden Ukrainian Folk Ensemble

NYC-based Ukrainian Folk Music Band, which consists of an accordion, sopilka, violin, bass guitar, and bubon. We perform folk music from the Carpathian Mountains to the depths of the Dnipro River and beyond. We explore the possibilities of traditional Ukrainian music by mixing traditional acoustic instruments like sopilka, violin and bubon with electric bass guitar and accordion. Our mission is to revive, perform, and preserve Ukrainian folk music.
