UMSU Theatre Awards 2026

The UMSU Theatre Awards are back for another night of celebrating the people who make student theatre happen – that’s YOU! Acknowledge all the producers, actors, writers, directors, designers, crew, creatives, reviewers, audience - everyone who has kept the stages alive in 2026.

And this year, we’re making some bald moves… That’s right. The theme is WIG. 💁

Whether you’re serving old Hollywood glamour, historical drama, cartoon chaos, questionable hair choices or a wig so enormous it needs its own seat, we want to see it. Go subtle, go spectacular or go completely off-script – just make sure your look is wig enough to turn heads.

Start the night with the Awards Ceremony in the Amphitheatre. Then, we’ll be taking over the Theatre Bar for drinks, canapés, live entertainment and plenty of opportunities to celebrate everything you’ve all pulled off this year. Tickets are limited, so get yours now for a front row seat to the best night of the year!

Come along, and get wiggy with it!

DATE: Thursday 29 October

TIME: 5.30pm for a 6pm start

Tickets are free but bookings are essential. Get your tickets ASAP and make sure all your pals in student theatre get their tickets too!

And please remember to bring your ID — you will not be able to consume alcohol without proof of age.
