Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow
The climate crisis is one of the greatest global challenges we are currently facing, and we are seeing the ways in which it will have a severe impact on our environmental, economic and social development on a global scale. Women are especially vulnerable to the impact of the climate crisis as they constitute the majority of the world’s poverty and are more dependent on the natural resources which climate change threatens the most.
The global theme for the 2022 UN Women’s International Women’s Day, Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow, highlights the contribution of women and girls around the world who are leading the charge on climate change, adaptation, mitigation and response to build a more sustainable future for all.
