Uncringe Academy for 9 to 12-year-olds

There's a lot to learn when it comes to bodies, puberty, sex, gender, and relationships! That's why WinkWink created "Uncringe Academy": honest, supportive, and inclusive sex education classes to help young people and their families understand this important part of their life.

The 4.5-hour class for 9 to 12 year olds provides sex education that's based in empowerment and information, rather than shame, fear, and judgment. We use an accepting, informing, and affirming framework. Our focus is helping young people to feel comfortable around these topics so that they can advocate for their own bodies, health, and well-being.

We use a variety of techniques to help kids stay engaged, including activities, group discussion, and lots of games. Need to offer them another selling point? We've got snacks and fun prizes for our games! Parents are always welcome to stay with their young person for the workshop.

Workshops are divided by age and presentation of topics will vary for developmental appropriateness. Topics covered in this two-day workshop will include:

• Healthy relationships, jealousy, and control
• Gender and sexual identities
• The science of puberty
• How periods work
• Paths to parenthood: the many ways to have a baby
• Sexual and reproductive anatomy
• Defining sex and sexuality
• Consent and communication

Class Details

• For suggested ages of 9-12 years old (but you know your kids best!)
• 1-day workshop, 10:00AM-2:30PM with lots of engagement and breaks. 
• Snacks will be provided and attendees are welcome to bring their own lunch/snacks, as well.

Tickets are offered on a sliding scale, $5-$50. Select the price level that best fits your financial situation; for those who can pay full cost, please do so.
