Under a Glaring Sun | A Celebration of Australian Wind Ensemble Music!

Join us at the Harold Lobb Concert Hall, Newcastle Conservatorium of Music, for an evening that celebrates the richness of Australian music. Featuring an all-Australian program, this concert will showcase the incredible talents of local and national composers, offering a truly unique musical experience.

The evening includes the Australian premiere of "Under a Glaring Sun" by Jacob Cummins, a Newcastle composer whose work is inspired Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series. Also featured is "A Novocastrian Rhapsody" by Brendan Collins, celebrating the musical heritage of Newcastle.

The program will continue with Percy Grainger's beloved works, including the "Gumsuckers March" and the arousing "Children's March". Newcastle Wind Orchestra is proud to present "Ceremony 1" by renowned Newcastle composer Ross Fiddes.

Closing the night, audiences will be treated to the ever-popular Irish Tune from County Derry (Danny Boy)/ Shepherd's Hey, bringing together a blend of local charm and global classics.

Don't miss this inspiring evening of music, where homegrown talent takes center stage in Under a Glaring Sun.
