In the rugged heart of Alice Springs, Under Streetlights follows two young souls, Ella—an American-Australian reeling from her mother’s death—and Izak, an Indigenous hip-hop artist on the edge of breaking through. Their worlds collide in the rhythm of their music, raw and born from their deepest pain and dreams.
Ella’s hidden voice meets Izak’s relentless beats, igniting a musical force that cuts through the silence of their struggles. With nothing but an iPhone and a fierce hunger for more, they craft songs that pulse with urgency, all while confronting the ghosts of their fathers’ battles with alcohol and the crushing weight of cultural expectations.
Under Streetlights is more than a film—it's a battle cry from Australia’s outback, where dreams clash with reality and music becomes a lifeline. Born from a movement to uplift young voices, this story surges with energy, hope, and a defiance that refuses to fade. It’s a journey of survival, connection, and the unstoppable rhythm of chasing a future that seems just out of reach.
