    Event description

Get ready for another installment of Quantum Women's Under the Hood series!

On June 26th, we're taking a deep dive into UK-based Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC)!  They are on a mission to put quantum computing into the hands of the humanity to solve complex, real-world problems that are beyond the capabilities of classical computers, aiming to make a significant impact across various industries, including energy, finance, pharmaceuticals, and materials science.

You'll get a chance to meet and hear from a diverse team of experts who will share:
    - Personal stories and insights into the day-to-day experience of working at OQC.
    - Information about the various roles and responsibilities within the company, and the diverse kinds of backgrounds they look for in future team members.

After the panel discussion, we invite you to participate in a dedicated Q&A session with the speakers. Seize this opportunity to gain insights that could shape your future in the quantum tech industry!

This session is part of Quantum Women's Empower pillar, where we help women build a strong professional network and position them to seize opportunities as they arise.

The goal with Under the Hood is to spark the creation of long-lasting relationships between employers and future quantum tech talent, introduce potential candidates to a wide range of career opportunities, provide a platform for employers to showcase their technology, people, and culture, and ultimately promote diversity and inclusion in the quantum tech industry.

    The QW Team.

    About the Speakers

Dr Apoorva Hedge is an experimental physicist with avid interests and enthusiasm to engage in the field of quantum technology.  Apoorva spent several years in an atomic physics lab full of lasers, mirrors, current carrying coils and a whole lot of electronics, where she tried to use atoms to simulate coupled quantum spin systems.  Shifting from one hard problem to another, Apoorva now work as a quantum engineer at the core of quantum tech using superconducting qubits, where we carefully engineer and control microscopic quantum systems.  She finds it truly rewarding to be an active part of one of the most fascinating innovations to have started in the scientific world.

Kajsa Eriksson Rosenqvist began her tenure at OQC five years ago as a Junior Software Engineer.  She is now one of the Software Engineers working in the compiler team, developing open sourced compiler and runtime QAT.  Kajsa works on both classical software solutions and high tech quantum problems and is involved in all stages, from project initiation and design, to code review and deployment.  Kajsa holds an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Lund University (Sweden) and a dual M.Sc. in Space Instrumentation and Technology from Université Paul Sabatier (France) and Luleå University of Technology (Sweden).

Dr Renuka Pothuraju is a Nanofabrication Engineer at OQC.  Prior to this role, she got her Ph.D. in Nanophotonics from the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT), Italy, and a master's degree in Solid State Technology from IIST, India.  Renuka specialises in the fabrication and characterisation of nano and micro devices. With more than 7 years of experience in cleanroom environments, she has worked with a diverse array of technologies, including superconducting quantum, nanophotonic, and thin film transistor devices.
