    Event description

In collaboration with the School of Literature, Languages, and Linguistics, the ANU School of Culture, History & Language presents "Underground coloniale," a captivating, free exhibition. This event is a highlight of the school’s annual flagship multicultural festival and showcase program, Immersia.

Drawing inspiration from the works of students, "Underground coloniale" explores the intricate ties between French colonialism and Indigenous cultures in the Francophone Pacific. Through the lens of artists, writers, intellectuals from French Polynesia, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, and Wallis & Futuna, this exhibit embarks on a journey toward a decolonized future, offering insights into the past and present as these communities navigate their postcolonial destinies.
