A unique cultural experience that celebrates 175 years since the 1851 discovery of gold in Bendigo transformed Australia forever!

A world-first grand piano concert 61 metres underground in Bendigo's own Central Deborah Gold Mine.

Internationally acclaimed concert pianists Ian Munro and Yasmin Rowe will perform a stunning program of grand and virtuosic Romantic-era piano music, all composed between 1851 and 1900, when Bendigo was internationally famous as the heart of the world's gold mining economy.

Join the Bendigo Fine Music team and these two world-class concert pianists for this a once-in-a-lifetime experience.


Seating is strictly limited - a maximum audience of 60 people - so book early!

IMPORTANT FURTHER INFORMATION

Ticket includes concert and post-performance refreshments in the historic Central Deborah Panning Shed.

Ticket holders must arrive at the Deborah Gold Mine no later than 4pm, to allow for safety briefing and journey into the mine.

  • Entry to Central Deborah Gold Mine is via Gate 2 (on Creek Street).

  • There is free parking along Creek Street.

  • Please arrive early as we may not be able to take latecomers underground after the concert begins.

  • A hard-hat is required whilst walking through the tunnels to the underground performance space. Once in the room, you may remove your hard hat.

  • Flat, fully enclosed footwear is essential.

  • A warm jacket is recommended - it's a constant 14 degree underground.

  • There are no toilets underground - we highly recommend using the facilities before heading underground.
