Event description

We’re thrilled to be partnering once again with our friends at Real Parents to bring you this powerful online session—designed to give parents and caregivers the tools to help children manage and regulate their emotions.

With the help of Juliet Witheford, a registered Social Worker with over 20 years of experience in child protection, mental health, and trauma-informed care, you’ll take a dive into the world of neuroscience to better understand what’s really going on when emotions run high.

Juliet is passionate about teaching brain development, the impacts of trauma, and practical emotion coaching strategies that actually work. She’s also a mum of three and brings a wonderfully real, relatable approach to supporting parents through their own journeys.

You’ll learn:

• The key steps of emotion coaching

• How to help children recognise, name, and process their emotions

• Tools and tips to build emotional resilience in everyday family life

Because we know the first step to taming big emotions is being able to name them.

This event is hosted online so we can reach more families across Selwyn and rural Canterbury—where access to support can sometimes feel a little out of reach.

Important:

The session will run via Google Meet. Please ensure you have the Google Meet app installed in advance. A reminder email with your access link will be sent on the day of the event.
