Event description

Understanding Autism

Professional Development General Workshop

With more than 15,000 individuals with an autism diagnosis in South Australia having an understanding of autism is relevant for many professionals in a range of settings.  This workshop is for anyone who wants a better understanding of autism and how the characteristics of autism can change the way an individual interacts and responds to the world and people around them. Participants will leave with a better understanding of the autism spectrum across the developmental ages, and knowledge of how autism can impact an individual’s everyday life. Using discussions, activities, videos and lived experiences, participants will have a better understanding of this complex neurological difference, and how it can impact on an individual’s everyday.

All participants will receive a certificate with the workshop title, the number of hours and will state that the training links to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (where appropriate).

Suitable for professionals supporting individuals of all ages.

If this workshop is full, please contact Emma Bennett on ebennett@autismsa.org.au.

Professional Workshops are designed for any individuals who support an individual on the autism spectrum on a professional or volunteer basis. The workshops provide examples and strategies that are relevant for professionals.
