Understanding Domestic Violence and Elder Abuse-Tools for You and Your Clients

This program will provide an overview of domestic violence and elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation as required by Kentucky Statute and equip counselors with the information necessary to better support their clients. 

Upon completion of this course, participants will have a better understanding of domestic violence and elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation by: 

1. Understanding the dynamics and effects on adult and child survivors 

2. Recognizing lethality and risk issues 

3. Learning legal remedies for protection

4. Learning model protocols for addressing with individuals 

5. Gaining a better understanding of resources, services, and reporting requirements
