Event description

Executive Functioning is a term used to describe the role of the prefrontal cortex—a key area of the brain responsible for many of the skills we use in daily life, such as planning, organization, emotional regulation, and focus. For ADHD and Autistic brains, these functions often work a little differently.

This event takes a deep dive into what executive functioning really is, breaking it down in fun, easy-to-understand ways. You’ll learn about the responsibilities of this part of the brain, how executive functioning shows up in neurodiverse individuals, and how to begin identifying your unique strengths and areas needing support.

What to Expect

  • Learn What Executive Functioning Is: A clear and relatable explanation of the prefrontal cortex and its key roles in everyday life.
  • Explore the Neurodiverse Experience: Understand how executive functioning differs in ADHD and Autistic brains, and how these differences impact thinking, behavior, and daily tasks.
  • Reflect on Your Own Systems: Gain insights into your own brain’s executive functioning and begin identifying areas where you thrive or may need extra support.
  • Foundations for Future Growth: This session focuses on understanding the ‘what’ and ‘why’ of executive functioning. Practical tools and supports will be explored in later events.

This event is online, and all ticket holders will receive a recording of the session, along with digital resources, for replay after the event.
