Understanding Harmful Behaviours & Responding to Distress

Understanding Harmful Behaviours and Responding to Distress is part of the University’s commitment to providing a supportive and safe environment to prevent harmful behaviours such as gendered harassment, sexual assault and racism on campus. This training session assists participants in understanding how harmful behaviours are expressed in our community and how to intervene if we witness something.

Participants will learn how to provide an initial response to a student in distress that is trauma-informed and person-centred. We will explore how to use the Harmful Behaviours Disclosure Tool and understand available referral and escalation pathways within ANU and in the community.
