More than one story: Understanding intersectionality in education
Event description
More than one story: Understanding intersectionality in education
Every learner, and every educator, brings multiple, intersecting identities into the classroom. Race, gender, class, disability, sexuality, culture and language all shape how people experience education. In this session, we’ll explore how intersectionality helps us understand these overlapping experiences and how systems of power and privilege operate in schools and learning spaces. Together, we’ll consider how educators can create learning environments that don’t just include but affirm the complexity of every learner’s identity.
