"Understanding Palestine" With Yousef Alreemawi

Yarra Ranges Palestine Action Group and Earthly Pleasures Cafe in Belgrave are proud to present an evening of Understanding Palestine with Yousef Alreemawi from the Averroes Centre of Arab Culture and who is one of Australia's leading experts on Palestinian history and Arabic language and culture.
THURSDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER 2025, 7-9PM | Free Entry, donations encouraged.
Yousef who is also a musician and storyteller will present an evening on the symbols that became Palestine covering the flag, the key, Handala, Jafra, the kufiyya and the Palestinian map using audio and visuals.
Entry is free however donations are encouraged and will support the ASPIRE group - an Australian refugee support group established in 2008 that provides language and legal support to Palestinian families fleeing conflict zones in Iraq and Syria, and the genocide in Gaza.

This event will unfortunately not be Auslan interpreted.
Unfortunately the venue is not accessible for mobility aids due to stairs at either entrance.
On the night the front entrance will not be used and access will only be via the back entrance through the public parking area.
There will seating set up on the night and the venue will have a bathroom available.
